There are legal problems and issues everywhere in society but we often fail to recognize them until it is too late.

It is less expensive and less stressful to identify a potential problem before it arises so that it can be prevented, thereby avoiding the unpleasant consequences of a lawsuit.

Receiving proactive and preventative legal advice can help you, your family, and your business feel comfortable moving forward with decisions, without fearing that you will face unplanned liability and expense from an ill-informed decision.

If you think you may have a legal problem I am available to consult with you to identify the issue and determine if there is a solution available to you. If you are planning to enter into a business or other relationship and want to identify possible pitfalls I can do that too.

I can answer questions about such things as insurance coverage, legal rights and responsibilities, interpretation of contracts, termination of employment, etc. All of these things, and many others have legal ramifications that no one should expect to identify without legal help.

  • You can reach me by phone or email, or through the contact form on the website. I respond promptly to all inquiries.

  • I will speak with you over the phone, or using a video-conferencing software during our first consultation. Flexible meeting times are available. There is no fee for an initial consultation. The purpose is to determine whether there is a legal remedy or defence available to you and whether I think it is likely that I can effectively represent you. Sometimes, if the matter is complex, I will take some time after the initial discussion to research the law and report back to you.

  • Fees are flexible and tailored to the ability of the client to pay.

    Some matters are undertaken on a contingent fee basis, others on a fixed fee or variable hourly rate, depending upon the risk and likely recovery.

    The first consultation is always free, and we will never proceed until we agree on a fee structure.

    If you have particular concerns about fees, please feel free to share those with me up front.

  • Once we have agreed to work together, I will communicate regularly with you over the phone and through email. You can contact me at any time with questions or concerns about your file.
